eBay v Hermès : 1 year later

French court orders eBay to communicate data on the sale of counterfeit Hermès handbags.

Following the decision of the Court of First Instance of Troyes (4 June 2008) which had ordered eBay to pay Hermès €20,000 damages for allowing the online sale of 4 counterfeit Hermès handbags, the Court of Appeal of Reims has ordered eBay France and eBay International, on 5 May 2009, to communicate to Hermès the names and addresses of the sellers and buyers of the counterfeit Hermès handbags, as well as the quantities ordered, produced, sold, delivered and received, the selling prices and the user details behind the screen names used, etc.

For those who can read French, a copy of the judgment can be found on Legalis.net.
